Pastor Josh delves into the concept of a “Macedonian Mentality,” drawing inspiration from the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Corinthians about the Macedonian churches. He explains that despite severe trials and extreme poverty, the Macedonians displayed overflowing joy that led to rich generosity.
Pastor Josh challenges us to consider our own generosity, asking if our level of giving, if replicated across the church, would allow the church to continue its ministry. He highlights key aspects of the Macedonian mentality: giving as much as they were able by faith rather than caution, giving beyond their ability, trusting God for provision, and taking the funding of God’s work personally.
He encourages us to ask God what we should do regarding generosity, emphasising that it’s about honouring God with our tithes and then being generous beyond that, believing that God responds to a cheerful heart.
