Pastor Josh Cooke, challenges us to consider what it truly means to follow Jesus and be part of His church. Using the beautiful metaphor of Christ and the bride (the church) from Ephesians 5, he questions whether our “vows” to Jesus are focused on Him or are too self-centred.
The message is clear. We must live for what Jesus died for – the church. He clarifies that the church is both gathered (meeting together for worship, encouragement, and the Word) and scattered (going out to care for the world, preach the gospel, and heal the city). The church isn’t a temporary or peripheral thing; it’s meant to be the epicentre of a Christian’s life. The call is to get involved, find your part in the body of Christ, and embrace a life of committed following.
